We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Adventure players who want to explore a house as a cat
- Casual players who prefer open-ended object interaction over structured combat
- Virtual reality players seeking quests, puzzles, and playful mini-games in one setting
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly linear adventure may find the sandbox structure too open-ended
- Players wanting sustained combat depth may find the focus on exploration, puzzles, and household mischief limited
- Players looking for a serious or realistic simulation may not want a game centered on cat behavior and chaotic object interactions
Our take on I Am Cat
Rather than treating an adventure game as a human-led journey, this title replaces the usual protagonist with a cat in a domestic sandbox. Exploration becomes physical mischief: stealing objects, scratching furniture, playing cat-specific mini-games, and deciding whether Granny is an enemy or a friend.
What is I Am Cat?
I Am Cat is a virtual reality sandbox adventure set in Granny’s house.
Players control a cat that can roam through the home, search for secrets, complete quests, and solve room-based puzzles. Cat actions include cooking, throwing objects, running, jumping, stealing items, and hiding. Granny can become an opponent or a friend, with encounters involving stealth, item theft, fighting, and hide-and-seek. Mini-games placed around the house include football, basketball, and catching mice. Household objects use physics, allowing players to scratch furniture, break vases and plants, and throw books while creating disorder throughout the rooms.
