Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed campaign structure may find the repeated simulation runs and procedural arenas limiting.
- Players who want stable weapon handling may dislike modules that change the weapon in unpredictable ways.
- Players looking for climbing, puzzle-solving, or meditative exploration will find those activities outside the game's main focus.
Our take on HYPERGUN
The bounce point arrives when weapon modules begin changing the gun in unpredictable ways. Players who want a stable weapon or carefully controlled combat rhythm may lose patience while adapting to each run's altered equipment.
What is HYPERGUN?
HYPERGUN is a fast-paced first-person roguelite shooter set inside a combat simulation.
The story follows Dewey Owens, an intern at DevTech Labs, as he enters the simulation and fights waves of alien interlopers. Weapon construction is central: more than 150 modules can be collected, with each changing the weapon in different ways. Runs take place in randomly generated arenas that become increasingly difficult, with a boss at the end of each level. Unlocking co-worker simulation profiles grants access to more than 40 abilities. The DevTech offices can also be explored for passive-aggressive notes from colleagues. Set in 2038, the game follows the HYPERGUN program, created to develop a weapon against an alien occupation of Earth.
