Our take on Hyper Flux
Rather than centering platforming on jumps and fixed routes, Hyper Flux makes zero-gravity momentum and push-pull physics the main route through each level. Its structure also treats rapid replay and time improvement as core goals, pairing traversal experimentation with suit upgrades.
What is Hyper Flux?
Hyper Flux is a single-player 3D platformer built around speedrunning.
Players control Elio, a tech-soldier moving through shattered planets with a zero-gravity suit, momentum, and two orbs that push or pull him through the environment. Each level leads toward an end portal, with completion time as a central goal. Fuel management adds a resource consideration during traversal. The game includes a comical story about Elio completing a bucket list within 24 hours after receiving a promised holiday amid an intergalactic war. Players can collect ingredients and upgrade the suit, then use its tools and movement systems to pursue faster times across multiple planets.
How Hyper Flux plays
- 01Zero-Gravity Traversal
- Movement through the planets relies on momentum, suit fuel, and aerial navigation.
- 02Force Orbs
- Two orbs propel Elio by pushing or pulling him across long distances.
- 03Time Competition
- Level completion times provide the basis for pursuing faster runs.
- 04Suit Upgrades
- Collected ingredients can be used to improve the suit for quicker attempts.
