Our take on Hourglass
Time is not merely part of the story: it becomes the main puzzle structure. The game replaces single-moment problem solving with recorded actions and a temporary copy that repeats them after the timeline resets.
What is Hourglass?
Hourglass casts Aywa as a young explorer who travels to Egypt after her archaeologist father disappears during an expedition.
In this alternate version of antiquity, Egypt’s monuments reflect technological knowledge far beyond conventional assumptions. Aywa can capture a sequence of movements for a short interval, reset time to its start, and summon a duplicate that performs the recorded sequence. This ability forms the basis of puzzles spread across several regions, requiring careful coordination with the repeating copy. Her investigation eventually reaches an isolated temple, where she discovers forgotten Egyptian machinery and gateways leading elsewhere. Deciphering these remnants is necessary for overcoming the remaining challenges and progressing toward her missing father.
How Hourglass plays

- 02Ancient technology setting
- The adventure includes a remote temple with undiscovered Egyptian technologies and portals to another world.
- 03Missing-father quest
- Aywa travels to Egypt to investigate the disappearance of her archaeologist father.
