StrategyIs HOMESICKNESS worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who want surreal psychological horror with environmental investigation
- Adventure fans who enjoy changing routes and item locations after failure
- Players interested in nostalgia-themed stories with optional audio
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat-heavy horror may bounce off the investigation and tool-based threat mechanics.
- Players who want a fixed route may find repeated deaths disruptive because rooms, exits, and item locations can change.
- Players looking for a short, self-contained story may not want the additional post-game material.
Our take on HOMESICKNESS
The bounce point arrives after the first death: familiar routes can close, room behavior can shift, and item positions can move. Players who rely on a stable map or a predictable sequence may hit a wall when the daycare begins resisting memorization.
What is HOMESICKNESS?
HOMESICKNESS is a point-and-click psychological horror game about Theo, who searches the abandoned CHILDREEF daycare while descending through its floors.
Exploration covers three segments, with items, hidden routes, special tools, and threats that require different tools to overcome. A tape left by someone important provides fragmented clues as Theo moves deeper. After each death, rooms can function differently, exits may vanish, and item locations can change. The game combines free-roam investigation with a surreal treatment of nostalgia and an aesthetic rooted in the 2000s. Post-game material expands the main story. Accessibility options and a customizable interface support mouse and keyboard or mouse-only play, while audio is optional. The minimum requirement is 1GB of RAM.
