Our take on Hiiro
The no-death design removes the pressure of losing progress during exploration, but also gives up failure as a source of tension. With no spoken or written language, the game relies on observation rather than explicit narrative explanation.
What is Hiiro?
Hiiro presents a 2D platforming journey built around atmospheric wandering and solving puzzles.
Its single large setting includes eight different areas, strange relics, abandoned ruins, concealed discoveries, and challenges across multiple difficulty levels. Music shifts during movement between locations. Characters never die, while the narrative communicates without speech or text. Basic controls accommodate newcomers, optional secrets suit relaxed players, difficult puzzles test dedicated players, and completion rewards await those who find everything. By watching the surroundings and investigating the landscape, players gradually uncover why the protagonist is alone.
