Our take on HEARTBEAT
The bounce point arrives when the adventure moves beyond creature fights into fishing, card collecting, relationship-building, and insect training. Players expecting a tightly focused combat loop may find the range of side activities interrupts their preferred pace.
What is HEARTBEAT?
HEARTBEAT is a top-down RPG set in a world recovering from repeated conflicts between humans and Mogwai.
Players travel through this land as a Conjurer, a human marked by Mogwai and tasked with preserving peace between the groups. The journey combines exploration with encounters involving friends, enemies, sharks, tigers, and other creatures. Activities include fishing, card collecting, combat, obtaining the denim blade, and training a small insect for battle. The setting presents a calm surface over a society living with uncertainty and danger. Alongside the Mogwai, players uncover ancient secrets while navigating relationships and conflicts across the world.
