Play it if you…
Good fit- Simulation players who want to guide a community rather than control individual characters directly
- Players interested in shaping island development through choices about technology, faith, farming, or defense
- Players who enjoy repeated runs with randomized maps and tasks
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want residents to manage construction and logistics independently; HAMMY follow assigned plans and do not build on their own.
- Players who prefer fast, efficient workers; residents complete one task before considering another and are reluctant to move items.
- Players seeking a puzzle-focused or conventional survival-crafting game
Our take on HAMMY
The god role gives broad control over residents’ development, but that control comes with hands-on oversight: HAMMY do not build independently, and their inefficient task habits can make island management more involved.
What is HAMMY?
HAMMY is a simulation game about guiding residents on an island as an apprentice god.
Grant wishes, teach survival skills, provide resources, and use skills that consume ham sausage tribute. Residents can develop into technology-focused communities, defenders, believers, farmers, or other groups, with decisions affecting their direction. They have emotions, make requests, and follow the arrangements set for them rather than building independently. The game includes randomly generated maps and assessment tasks, battles and invasions, multiple skills, more than 30 architectural drawings, and multiple endings. A notebook lets players view unlocked items, resources, and buildings; selecting a resident’s wish can also make that resident easier to find.
How HAMMY plays
- 01Resident wishes
- Selecting a wish makes it easier to locate the HAMMY who made the request.
- 02God notebook
- The notebook collects information about unlocked buildings, items, and resources.
- 03Random scenarios
- Maps and assessment tasks are randomized between journeys.
- 04Tribute-funded skills
- Using a skill consumes ham sausage, with tribute amounts affected by belief and certain buildings.
- 05Multiple endings
- Different decisions can lead HAMMY communities toward distinct ways of life.
