Our take on GWENT: Rogue Mage (Single-Player Expansion)
The one-round battle format gives encounters a compact structure but leaves less room for extended card sequencing. Alzur also begins unable to answer the opponent’s final play, with later campaign progress needed to unlock greater control over battle flow.
What is GWENT: Rogue Mage (Single-Player Expansion)?
GWENT: Rogue Mage centers on Alzur, a young mage, and Lily as they seek to make a living weapon capable of fighting monsters.
Its solo campaign blends deckbuilding, roguelike advancement, tactical decisions, and GWENT card matches. Combat is resolved in a single round. Each turn, Alzur uses energy to cast spells from a Grimoire that grows during the campaign. Energy can be restored by reaching special map locations or encountering certain events while traveling. Progression grants bonuses that increase Alzur’s influence over how battles unfold. Once the opening two experiments are complete, Curses add adjustable difficulty and variation to subsequent attempts.

Shogun Showdown also combines roguelike progression, deckbuilding, and turn-based combat, but its description focuses on positioning, attack tiles, combos, and skills before facing the Shogun.
