Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking slow, low-pressure platforming may hit a wall during the challenging enemy encounters.
- Players looking for a short, tightly contained adventure may find the journey across many environments too expansive.
- Players who want climbing and stamina management as the main activity may prefer a game centered on those systems.
Our take on Guardian
The likely bounce point arrives when movement and combat demands converge: players comfortable with basic platforming but unwilling to manage challenging enemies may stop at encounters that combine dashing, rolling, jumping, and fighting.
What is Guardian?
Guardian is a fast-paced action platformer following Skye, the last known guardian of the gods, through a broken world facing an approaching cataclysm.
Movement combines running, jumping, fighting, dashing, and rolling across areas including flying citadels, bogs, snowy forests, and underground caverns. Enemies challenge Skye throughout each region, while exploration reveals abilities and upgrades. Bosses must be defeated to advance through the areas. The story follows Skye and the goddess Esara as they investigate the ruined world, its corruption, and what happened. The game presents its setting in detailed pixel art with an original score. It supports controllers and allows controls to be rebound.
