Our take on Grey Area
Rather than presenting platforming as a straightforward route from start to finish, Grey Area places traversal inside an unsettling mystery with hidden locations, abilities, and two endings. Its child protagonist and strange realm shift the genre’s usual emphasis from action alone toward discovery and narrative uncertainty.
What is Grey Area?
Grey Area is a platformer about Hailey, a child who enters a strange realm while walking to a store alone.
Players guide her across 21 levels by jumping over frightening creatures, bouncing from walls, searching for secrets, and exploring hidden locations. The journey includes five abilities to discover, two endings, and optional places that present additional challenges. Hardcore and relaxed difficulty settings change the expected challenge. The game frames its platforming around an unsettling world filled with unusual environments and creatures, while Hailey tries to find her way home and understand where she is. A creature called the snurk can also be petted.

Grey Area compared to similar games
Grey Area centers on tough platforming across 21 levels, hidden areas, unlockable abilities, and two endings. Jusant focuses on climbing a tower, managing stamina, and following different paths through an environmental mystery, while SUPER CHICKEN JUMPER combines running and jumping with shooting. Sundered: Eldritch Edition is described as a chaotic metroidvania, giving it a broader action-exploration structure than Grey Area’s level-based platforming.
