Our take on Gone In November
The fixed outcome keeps the story focused on one character's final days, but sacrifices the agency that comes from decisions changing events. The short format also leaves limited room for a broader narrative structure.
What is Gone In November?
After returning from a final visit to the doctor, a patient learns that only three days remain to live.
This short narrative experience follows the character's thoughts and memory fragments while addressing depression and the effects of a deadly diagnosis. The player encounters actions connected to isolation and routine, including sending messages to a social-network account inactive for 121 days, watering cacti without a clear reason, and enclosing the apartment to separate it from the outside world. Choices and actions do not affect the result, keeping the focus on the patient's state of mind during the final days.
