Our take on Gnomes
The bounce point arrives when the economy and defense systems must be managed together. Players who can place defenses but do not want to balance crops, relics, buildings, resources, and guild-specific weaknesses may stall before reaching the goblin king.
What is Gnomes?
Gnomes combines turn-based tower defense with roguelike progression across procedurally generated biomes.
During each turn, players move gnomes, position defenses, manage crops, and develop the village economy. Plants, relics, tools, and buildings create different combinations, while randomly dealt upgrades shape each run. Biomes add distinct environments, enemies, hazards, and resources. Guilds begin with different gnome types, economies, and relics, creating varied strengths and weaknesses. After defeating the goblin king, Endless Mode continues with increasingly difficult nightly waves until the settlement is overwhelmed.
How Gnomes plays
- 01Turn-Based Defense
- Gnomes can move repeatedly during a turn while relics and plant abilities support village defense.
- 02Village Economy
- Crops, buildings, tools, and map resources contribute to an economy that must be developed alongside defenses.
- 03Procedural Biomes
- Runs combine generated environments with biome-specific enemies, hazards, and resources.
- 04Guild Starting Builds
- Each guild provides a distinct gnome type, starting economy, and relic with different strategic strengths and weaknesses.
- 05Endless Mode
- After the first goblin king victory, increasingly difficult waves continue until the settlement is overwhelmed.
