Gimmick in the Chaos Dimension is a retro arcade maze runner built around repeatable, randomly generated runs.
Gimmick explores an unstable maze while avoiding enemies and gathering data for her graduate thesis. Powerups provide access to skills that can be unlocked and upgraded, while 12 pieces of equipment allow different play setups. The game also includes cosmetic unlocks, run statistics, achievements, and secret guest characters. Its presentation uses 64 colors and original music made with BeepBox. Alice from Space Mouse 2 can join the journey after all of Gimmick’s skills are obtained and 256 coins are collected. The goal is to gather enough data to complete the thesis before being forced out of the Chaos Dimension.
