Our take on Galactic Empire
The broad empire-management structure trades immediate action for planning across research, population, diplomacy, construction, and fleet decisions. Its turn-based format gives those systems room to interact, but players seeking constant combat may find the pace interrupted by administrative choices.
What is Galactic Empire?
Galactic Empire is a turn-based strategy game about expanding and managing a spacefaring civilization.
Players select a starting planet and one of three character classes: Architect, Scientist, or General, each providing different bonuses. The empire grows through construction, research, fleet production, population assignment, diplomacy, trade, and planetary conquest. Ships can be fitted with parts for economic, defensive, or military roles. Exploration covers procedurally generated galaxies containing planets, black holes, nebulae, cantinas, asteroid fields, and pirate locations. Victory can come through technological supremacy, faction reputation, planetary conquest, or a target score. The game includes four difficulty settings, changing laws, a card game in cantinas, achievements, rankings, tutorials, and beginner missions.
