Our take on Frozen Memories
Instead of centering on a conventional present-day investigation, the story moves between a 2014 request and events from 2010, with the mystery rooted in a photograph and a disaster that lacks clear memories or records.
What is Frozen Memories?
Frozen Memories is a suspense visual novel about a blurred black-and-white graduation photograph that should not exist.
In 2014, a woman in a wheelchair asks for help finding out where the picture came from, though she has no recollection of taking it. The story reaches back to 2010, when photography club president Lin Manmiao and her fellow students discover an old camera and a letter containing a riddle while cleaning a classroom. They follow the letter’s suggestion to choose an activity.
Their investigation connects to a rumor that a natural disaster damaged the waterfront city of Shanhai in 2012, despite the lack of clear memories or official records of what happened. The story follows the students and the question of whether their future is already determined.
