Our take on Frightened
The defining structure is a ten-step ritual race: each completed ritual brings the demon closer to destruction while making it angrier, forcing timing decisions about when to perform actions that calm or enrage it.
What is Frightened?
Frightened is a cooperative horror survival game for solo play or groups of up to four.
Players search the area for an enchanted paper, ritual water, and a creature’s skull, then place them in matching locations on a pentagram in the gym. Ten completed rituals destroy the demon, but each one increases its anger. A basement ritual involving mice can reduce that anger when performed at the right time, or intensify it when mistimed. Players can also sacrifice someone or interact with nearby objects to calm the demon. Medical bags found around the area can be used to aid victims. Item locations change between games, and the group must decide how to proceed while avoiding capture.
