Our take on Friendly Facade
Rather than relying on narrative choices alone, this visual novel inserts point-and-click and strategy mini-games into key story moments. Its society-building premise also shifts from competition among participants to a changing set of rules introduced by the foundation.
What is Friendly Facade?
Maggie Crane and 15 other participants enter the Isolated Society Study, where they must try to create a peaceful society while competing in challenges.
This visual novel combines point-and-click sequences and strategy mini-games with key story moments. Each character has personal goals and beliefs that shape their choices and tactics, while their relationships overlap and sometimes conflict. The story includes manipulation, betrayal, and characters who may not reach a happy ending. Near the study’s conclusion, the Golding Foundation changes the rules, putting the participants’ futures in question.
Players investigate the foundation and the secrets behind the characters’ public facades. Nine chapters are available to play, with more in development. The first two chapters contain voice acting. The game has about 250,000 words and approximately 215 CGs.
