SimulationIs FORZA POLPO! worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Fans of first-person platformers who want high vertical movement
- Arcade-action players who enjoy managing a shared movement and combat resource
- Speedrunners who prefer tight levels and repeated fast attempts
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking low-pressure platforming may hit a wall when each jump and shot uses the same energy reserve.
- Players who prefer grounded traversal may struggle with the emphasis on high jumps, gliding, and narrow airborne routes.
- Players looking for survival crafting, role-playing, or multiplayer systems will find the focus is on platform shooting.
Our take on FORZA POLPO!
The bounce point arrives when movement and combat compete for one energy meter. Players who spend freely on jumps may reach a gap with less energy available for attacks, while cautious players may find the resource trade-off interrupts the fast arcade pace.
What is FORZA POLPO!?
Forza Polpo!
is a first-person platform shooter set among ruined Japanese landscapes after a collapse. Players control Polpo, a jet-powered mech, moving across rooftops, bridges, beaches, and abandoned nuclear plants with jumps, glides, and attacks on unusual robots. Jumps can reach 300 feet, and gliding carries Polpo across gaps. Jumping and firing draw from the same energy supply, making movement and combat compete for resources. Simulation mode applies resource limits, while Arcade mode offers unlimited energy. The game has tight levels intended for speedrunning, low-poly visuals in a PS1-inspired style, and a soundtrack with arcade influences.
How FORZA POLPO! plays
- 01Shared Energy Meter
- Movement and weapon use consume the same reserve, so each encounter requires choices about when to jump or fire.
- 02Two Play Modes
- Simulation applies resource pressure, while Arcade removes energy limits.
- 03Vertical Movement
- The mech can rise as high as 300 feet and travel across gaps by gliding.
- 04Speedrun-Oriented Levels
- The stages are structured for fast repeated runs and are described as suitable for Steam Deck.
- 05Robot Combat
- Players attack unusual enemies while navigating elevated environments.
