Our take on Forward Defense
The likely sticking point is the defense-building loop: players who want to control a character directly may bounce off when the game asks them to choose turret positions and maintain fixed defenses instead.
What is Forward Defense?
Forward Defense is a top-down 3D, single-player tower defense game set in a fictional Middle Eastern country.
Players defend United Coalition Force positions against insurgents using vehicles such as Technicals and armored personnel carriers. The game combines turn-based play with a presentation inspired by military real-time strategy games. Its six turret designs have different roles: rotary cannons target lightly armored enemies, while missile launchers engage distant threats. Players can build and repair turrets and place Hesco walls for perimeter defense. Maps include an oil refinery, a damaged city, farmland, and a mountain village, with layouts that affect turret placement. An information window displays unit and turret statistics. The game supports 16:9 and ultrawide resolutions.
