Our take on Forgotton Anne
Rather than treating platforming as the main attraction, the game places branching dialogue and narrative decisions alongside light puzzles and movement challenges. Its world of animated everyday objects also replaces the more familiar fantasy or science-fiction setting found in many adventure games.
What is Forgotton Anne?
Forgotton Anne is a cinematic adventure set in the Forgotten Lands, a world inhabited by creatures made from misplaced everyday objects.
Players control Anne, an enforcer seeking a route back to the human world while dealing with a rebellion against her master, Bonku. Exploration combines running, jumping, soaring, area unlocking, and light platforming puzzles. Anne can use Anima, the energy that gives the land its life, to solve puzzles and control the actions of Forgotlings. Conversations and decisions affect the unfolding story through branching dialogue. The game uses hand-animated visuals and includes an orchestral score performed by the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra.
