The focus on large battlefields and combined-arms combat trades away the tighter scale of a small-team shooter. Class progression and vehicle operation add layers to each match, but they also make the experience less immediate than a straightforward run-and-gun format.
What is Forefront?
Forefront is a VR shooter set in a 2035 conflict between the energy corporation O.
R. E. and resistance forces fighting over Red Orpiment. Matches support up to 32 players across platforms and use large maps with partly destructible environments. Players can pilot helicopters, drive tanks, or operate humvees, quads, and boats while attacking objectives. Four classes—Assault, Engineer, Medic, and Sniper—provide different weapons, attachments, and gadgets that become available through soldier and class progression. Combat combines firearms, tactical movement, teamwork, and environmental destruction: walls and buildings can be damaged to open routes or remove cover.
