SimulationIs Food Chain worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy multiplayer survival games centered on competing for scarce resources.
- Animal-game fans interested in species with different physical traits.
- Players seeking physics-based animal combat across land, water and air.
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a broad set of activities beyond survival and fighting over water may find the gameplay narrow.
- Those who prefer predictable movement may find collision-based body physics less consistent from encounter to encounter.
- Players seeking a single-player battle mode may not find that mode in the current feature set.
- Players looking for species statistics, player ratings and graphs should note these are described as possible future additions.
Our take on Food Chain
The survival loop puts water at the center of play, so encounters are shaped by thirst and resource competition rather than a wide range of objectives. That focused setup gives the game a clear conflict, but leaves less room for players who want varied modes or goals.
What is Food Chain?
Control an animal in a multiplayer struggle for survival across land, water and air.
Each species has individual traits, including mass, speed, manoeuvrability, damage and skin thickness. Water activates regeneration and prevents death from thirst, but it runs out; as drought sets in, players are pushed toward contested water. Combat uses claws, jaws, hooves, horns or beaks. Movement responds to collisions between parts of a complex skeleton and obstacles, with each part’s position relative to the center of gravity affecting the result. Sound is produced through physical interactions. A single-player battle mode, detailed species statistics, player ratings and graphs are mentioned as possible future additions, not current features.
How Food Chain plays
- 01Water-driven survival
- Water triggers regeneration and counters thirst, while its depletion brings players into conflict over what remains.
- 02Animal-specific traits
- Species differ in characteristics such as speed, mass, manoeuvrability and damage.
- 03Collision-based movement
- Contact between body parts and obstacles affects movement according to each part’s position relative to the center of gravity.
- 04Physical combat
- Animals use claws, jaws, hooves, horns or beaks to fight over water.
