- Players looking for a solo-focused experience may prefer a game without co-op as a central option
Our take on Folklore Hunter
The description gives substantial space to randomized contracts after the creature hunts, but does not explain how those jobs differ beyond their randomized expeditions. That leaves the repeat-hunt structure less specific than the handcrafted creature hunts.
What is Folklore Hunter?
Hunt supernatural creatures across environments such as abandoned campsites, watchtowers, cabins, and caves.
Explore freely, search for clues, follow maps, and solve puzzles while managing harsh conditions and threats from the creatures. Scavenge for ammunition, cameras, traps, meat, and other resources, then place cameras and traps around the map to support the hunt. Each hunt has its own handcrafted setting and story. Online co-op supports an unlimited number of friends for hunts and contracts. Return to the Fortress to buy and unlock gear using what has been gathered; dying during a hunt can mean losing some of it. After encountering the available creatures, take randomized contracts from the Fortress notice board for further expeditions.
