Our take on Flightpath
The branching story gives route choices a central role, but that focus means the game is not built around the fixed, synchronized attack patterns of a bullet-hell shooter. Its procedural layouts and enemy patterns also make runs less predictable.
What is Flightpath?
Flightpath is a top-down shooter built around route choices that alter the story.
Players select one of three characters, each with a separate storyline, then fight through enemy waves while choosing between two paths at certain points. Those decisions affect later events, missions, characters, bosses and the ending. Stages can include objectives such as rescuing someone, recovering items, destroying Syndicate property or defeating a boss. The game has ten stage locations, with procedurally generated stages and enemy attack patterns. Its branching paths provide different story sequences across runs. Flightpath is set in the Venaris planetary system, where three individuals pursue the Syndicate and its leader, the Chairman.
