Our take on Flashback
Rather than centering strategy on battles or territory, this game places choices in a deliveryman's encounters and ties them to shifting attributes. Its month-long structure can conclude or loop back to the first day, making narrative decisions the main strategic mechanism.
What is Flashback?
Play as a deliveryman in a turbulent city, meeting characters and facing events shaped by personal choices.
Outcomes change attributes, which also shift gradually as time passes. Letting another personality take over an event interrupts it and its attribute changes, but giving up events reduces attributes while raising the deliveryman's level. Attributes that reach zero or rise too high can lead to a bad ending or a special outcome, while level can affect some events. On Day 30, the story may end or return to the first day. Character fates and the course of events depend on the choices made.
How Flashback plays
- 01Attribute Changes
- Choices and the passage of time alter attributes, with extreme values potentially triggering different outcomes.
- 02Event Abandonment
- Giving up an event lets another personality handle its problems, lowers attributes, and raises the deliveryman's level.
- 03Day 30 Outcome
- The thirtieth day can end the story or send it back to its opening day.
