Is FirstQueen1 NEXT worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want to supervise groups rather than fight every battle alone
- RPG fans who enjoy rescuing vulnerable characters and managing recovery
- Players interested in campaigns where enemy groups can become allies
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking direct control of every soldier may hit a wall when subordinates act according to their personalities.
- Players wanting isolated one-on-one hero fights may find group battles and country-wide enemy movements too system-focused.
- Players looking for a purely linear campaign may not fit the shifting tribal alliances.
Our take on FirstQueen1 NEXT
The bounce point arrives when a battle stops being fully controllable: subordinates choose when to attack or retreat, and a weak character may withdraw as LIFE falls. Players must monitor several groups, reposition endangered units, and decide where enemy forces should be stopped.
What is FirstQueen1 NEXT?
Lead a counterattack against the Queen of Ornic by overseeing groups of soldiers and allies across a country.
Subordinates attack or withdraw according to orders and their individual personalities, while direct control lets players rescue endangered characters or send strong units into difficult battles. Wounded soldiers can leave combat and recover away from enemies. Tribes may change sides during the campaign, and defeating an enemy leader can bring that leader’s troops into the allied force. Nurses treat wounded characters, while some soldiers use special items. Enemy units gradually approach the castle, requiring decisions about where to stop them. This remake of the 1988 PC game expands the screen, adds a second troop battalion to battles, and updates the original system.
