Our take on Firewood
Firewood shifts the adventure genre away from broad exploration and toward a personal psychological story. Its central conflict is an old man’s struggle with grief, memory, and an oppressive past, with the journey framed around redemption rather than conventional heroic discovery.
What is Firewood?
Firewood is a side-scrolling 2D adventure with psychological horror elements.
It follows an old man who continues to struggle with his wife’s death years after she is gone. Following her funeral, he moves to a cabin far from town to escape memories of the past and his country’s oppressive regime. An unexpected event begins a dark journey centered on the redemption he seeks. The game combines hand-drawn graphics with grim, atmospheric music and a twisting story. Firewood was the creators’ first project, made from scratch over five months, including its graphics and music.
