Our take on Fine China
The headline premise emphasizes breaking items, while the main mode centers on reaching the register quickly and avoiding excessive damage. The room-scale requirement and need for a belt or back pocket are practical conditions that receive less attention than the destructive setup.
What is Fine China?
Fine China is a virtual-reality simulator for HTC Vive, set inside an antique shop.
In its main mode, players carry a large backpack and travel toward the checkout; reaching it quickly earns a higher score, while excessive breakage is discouraged. Destruction mode sets a different goal: inflict as much damage as possible before the timer expires. The game supports room-scale play and includes WalkAbout movement, letting players turn around the physical play space separately from their in-game location. To equip the backpack, a controller must be placed behind the body at a belt or back pocket, making a belt or trousers necessary. A free demo offers a restricted portion of the content.
How Fine China plays

- 03WalkAbout locomotion
- Players can rotate around the physical play area independently of their in-game position.
- 04Backpack controller input
- The backpack is worn by placing a controller behind the body at a belt or back pocket.
