Good fit- Casual racing players who prefer deliberately unrealistic handling over simulation driving
- Retro-visual fans who want racing in a monochrome pixel style
- VR players who want to steer with hand controllers or use a gamepad or keyboard
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking realistic vehicle handling may find the intentionally fake physics a poor match.
- Racers wanting a large course selection may find four tracks limiting, even with reverse and mirrored options.
- Players looking for a broad range of race types may find the three listed modes restrictive.
Our take on Fake Racing
The listing emphasizes VR support and its unusual visual style, while the game’s scope is modest: four tracks and three modes. The reverse and mirrored layouts add variations, but the core offering remains a small set of courses rather than a large racing calendar.
What is Fake Racing?
Fake Racing is a retro-styled independent racer built around monochrome pixel visuals and intentionally unrealistic vehicle behavior.
It contains three event types: standard races, elimination contests, and an air-attack variant in which a hostile helicopter pursues the competitors and creates extra danger for those leading. Four circuits are available, with reversed and mirrored versions of each. The game uses a purpose-built 3D dithering renderer and offers three single-color palette choices. Virtual reality play is available, using hand steering through VR controllers. Players can also control cars with a gamepad thumbstick or keyboard. Its focus is casual arcade-style racing with fictional handling rather than a driving simulation.
How Fake Racing plays
- 01Helicopter Attacks

- 02Track Variations
- The four courses can be raced in reverse or mirrored layouts.
- 03VR Control Options
- VR steering can use hand movements, while gamepad thumbsticks and a keyboard are also supported.
- 04Monochrome Palettes
- The custom dithering renderer offers three palette choices for its pixel visuals.
