Our take on Fake Illusions
The focus on spotting visual discrepancies keeps the activity direct, but also limits variety: the central task remains close observation across a collection of illusions rather than a wider set of mechanics.
What is Fake Illusions?
Fake Illusions presents interactive optical puzzles where misleading visual effects conceal a genuine alteration.
Players examine lines, circles, color, perspective, and motion before selecting the image that breaks the visible pattern. It offers over fifteen illusion types with variations and decoys, alongside Zen and Shuffle modes. Each puzzle allows adjustment of how prominent the concealed change appears. Automatic saving lets players leave and return later. Mouse, keyboard, and gamepad controls are supported, with remapping for keyboard and gamepad. Visuals are largely monochrome, brightness is adjustable, and puzzles relying on color differences may be bypassed. GIF recording is included. Repeated patterns and strong contrast can cause discomfort.
