Our take on Facing
Instead of broad movement and many possible targets, Facing confines each duel to one body position and attacks against the opponent’s headset. Its structure also favors repeated focused bouts over a campaign or progression-based format.
What is Facing?
Facing is a VR sword-fighting game centered on online duels.
Players hold weapons with both hands, swing them freely, and defend through blocking or dodging. The physics system includes forceful blocks, recoil after a weapon is knocked away, and increased damage from faster swings. Attacks may target only the opponent’s headset, while each player’s movement is limited to one body position. Matches use a two-game, seven-point format: the first player to reach seven points wins a game, and winning two games wins the match. Single-player play is limited, and the vendor suggests arranging matches with another player.
How Facing plays
- 01Free weapon handling
- Weapons swing without fixed angle restrictions or stated movement limitations.
- 02Physics-based combat
- Blocking, recoil, weapon displacement, and swing speed affect the duel.
- 03Headset-only targeting
- Attacks are restricted to the opponent’s headset.
- 04Online duels
- Players enter a dueling table to fight against other players.
- 05Seven-point matches
- A player needs seven points to win one game and two games to win the match.
