Our take on EverRail
The listing presents a broad survival system built around crafting, exploration, co-op, procedural generation, and train expansion. The quieter qualification is that EverRail remains in Early Access, with features, balance, systems, and story still subject to change during development.
What is EverRail?
EverRail is an open-world survival crafting game set on the frozen exomoon Inara.
Players explore abandoned facilities, scavenge resources, fight threats, rescue stranded passengers, and craft weapons, armor, tools, gliders, and machinery. A constantly moving train serves as the base, shelter, storage system, and transport. Its battery recharges while moving but drains when stationary, making power management central to expeditions. The train can be expanded with hundreds of wagons for storage, production, and logistics.
Procedural generation creates changing routes, locations, anomalies, and survivor placements. Death passes control to another passenger while survivors remain. The game supports solo play and cooperative play with up to four players, and is presented as an Early Access project whose systems, balance, and story may continue to change.
How EverRail plays
- 01Moving Train Base
- The train combines shelter, storage, production, transport, and survivor management while traveling across Inara.
- 02Battery Management
- Power returns during movement and decreases while stopped, so expeditions must account for the train's energy supply.
- 03Procedural World
- Generated facilities, anomalies, routes, dangers, and rescue opportunities vary between runs.
- 04Train Expansion
- Hundreds of attachable wagons can add storage, production capacity, and logistics infrastructure.
- 05Aerial Scouting
- A glider and scan drones can survey locations, locate threats, and find rare isotopes before ground expeditions.
- 06Passenger Succession
- When a character dies, another passenger takes over the journey as long as survivors remain.
EverRail compared to similar games
EverRail centers survival crafting on a mobile train, battery management, procedural exploration, passenger succession, and cooperative play for up to four participants. Mr. Prepper instead focuses on preparing an underground shelter and resisting an authoritarian government. Unplagued also supports teams of up to four and procedural locations, but its description focuses on purging plague-infected medieval villages rather than managing a traveling base and its power supply.
