- Players who want varied questing or a large cast of characters may find the repeated boss encounters limited in scope.
- Players looking for ranged or first-person combat may not find the greatsword-focused format suitable.
Our take on EVERCHAINED
Its fantasy framing suggests a large, recurring mythic journey, but the playable structure is more focused: a sequence of 16 boss encounters with build choices, upgrades, and tougher repeat versions.
What is EVERCHAINED?
EVERCHAINED is a boss-rush action RPG built around dodge-based combat and a distinctive greatsword system.
Players choose among paths while facing 16 bosses, ranging from huge creatures to eldritch horrors. Consecutive greatsword hits collect shards, which can be spent on stat improvements. Thirty-two trinkets add perks for creating different builds. Scaling NG+ versions raise the challenge by revisiting each encounter at tougher settings. The game uses a stylized visual presentation inspired by early 2000s Flash games, with a scalable 4:3 aspect ratio. Each fight has its own orchestral or synth music track. Keyboard and gamepad controls are supported, and Steam Achievements are included.

Vagante presents an adventure through a dark fantasy setting filled with monsters, demons, and crooks, rather than a defined 16-fight boss-rush structure.
