Saves you a refund- Players who want a slow, deliberate platforming pace may hit a wall during the speed-focused movement sequences.
- Players seeking a fixed campaign structure may tire of repeating runs through randomly changing worlds.
- Players looking for a climbing-focused action-puzzle game may prefer a game centered on mastering climbing tools and stamina management.
Our take on Emberdrift
Players who need a steady, deliberate pace may bounce off once runs demand rapid combinations of sliding, wall-jumping, grinding, grappling, and teleporting. The randomized structure can also be a sticking point for anyone expecting a fixed route or unchanged level sequence.
What is Emberdrift?
Emberdrift is a roguelike platformer built around rapid movement and combat.
Runs take place in randomly generated worlds that change between attempts. Players can slide, wall-jump, launch diagonally, grind, grapple, teleport, shoot, and dash through levels. Each run begins with a weapon tied to a movement mechanic, such as a grappling hook, jetpack, dashing sword, or buzzsaw. Combos provide resources for unlocking upgrades and confronting bosses. Pets join fights during runs, while banners add bonuses connected to mechanics including combos, grenades, and pets. The game also includes unlockable character skins earned through play and progression.
