The game gives up broad systems and open-ended exploration in favor of a tightly focused Echo mechanic. That trade-off keeps the puzzles and story presentation central, but leaves less room for combat, crafting, or other forms of progression.
What is ECHOPLEX?
ECHOPLEX is a puzzle platformer set inside a looping simulation, where a duplicate called the Echo repeats the player's actions.
Levels contain memory fragments that reveal parts of the story, but reaching them requires solving spatial challenges around the Echo's behavior. The game combines minimalist environments with live-action video clips and a full-motion video narrative. An abstract audio design and cyber-horror score accompany the puzzles. Progression takes place across increasingly difficult challenges, with time pressure intensifying as the Echo approaches. The story unfolds through puzzle completion and filmed sequences rather than through gameplay alone.
