Our take on Echoes of Red
The build system offers many combinations, but its emphasis on short runs and escalating combat leaves less room for a long-form campaign structure. Players choose between manual or automatic controls, while the large arsenal and difficulty range place the focus on repeated experimentation rather than a fixed progression path.
What is Echoes of Red?
Play 15-minute roguelite shooting runs with four classes, each equipped with four weapons.
Build custom setups by combining equipment, upgrades, deck cards, and artifact weapons; the available pool includes 112 upgrades, 30 equipment unlocks, 19 cards, and 11 artifacts. Enemies grow stronger over time, with seven mini-boss varieties to confront. Destroy minerals for small stat bonuses and collect souls to unlock upgrades and weapon fragments. A run ends by defeating either the Archon of Red or the Icon of Tyranny. Nine difficulty options include Madness, One-Shot, Endless Elites, and Infinite Survival, alongside a public leaderboard. Combat supports manual or automatic aiming and firing. Pets can collect resources, block attacks, and damage enemies automatically.

Echoes of Red compared to similar games
Echoes of Red offers rapid shooting in a roguelite format, with 15-minute sessions, an unrestricted weapon count, selectable classes, and increasingly difficult enemy waves. NEOVERSE likewise mixes roguelite and strategy play, but focuses on card construction, time manipulation, and hero-led adventures instead of gunplay and weapon setup experimentation.
