- Players seeking varied action systems may find the repeated weak-or-strong rolling controls limiting across the six stages.
- Players looking for combat, character progression, or multiplayer will not find those activities in the described gameplay.
Our take on Drum Roll
The main sticking point is the finish condition: reaching the target is not enough, since the drum must be upright inside the circle before time expires. A missed timer destroys the drum, making the reset decision part of each attempt.
What is Drum Roll?
Drum Roll is an action game about moving an oil drum to a goal.
Players use two actions to roll it, one weakly and one strongly, through six outdoor stages with winding routes and steep slopes. To finish a stage, the drum must be upright inside a white glowing circle before the time limit expires. If time runs out, the drum explodes. A self-destruct command lets players reset the drum when they decide the goal is out of reach. The game also records personal best times, and sparks appear when the drum spins quickly as it contacts the ground.
How Drum Roll plays
- 01Two rolling strengths
- Choose a gentler or stronger push to move the drum through winding paths and over steep slopes.
- 02Timed goal condition
- A stage is cleared by standing the drum upright inside the glowing target before the countdown ends.
- 03Self-destruct reset
- Trigger the drum's destruction to restart when continuing toward the goal seems out of reach.
- 04Personal best times
- The game tracks each player's fastest completion time.
