Our take on District Panic
The focus on arcade combat gives District Panic a concentrated action loop, but leaves less room for slower exploration or story-led progression. Its structure also centers on missions, enemy waves, upgrades, and vehicle control rather than a broader set of activities.
What is District Panic?
District Panic is a top-down arcade shooter set inside a malfunctioning computer.
Players control a selected vehicle while exploring infected computers across 18 districts and fighting waves of computer bugs. The Early Access version includes four characters, 11 enemy types, 25 weapons, six abilities, and five mission types. Character development combines class choices, modifications, upgrades, and a skill-tree structure, with two different ways to upgrade the character. Vehicle and projectile colors can be personalized, and the robot companion Z2 has upgrade options. The game also includes an audio player with playlist selection, appearance customization, and a mini-game. Its music library contains more than 70 songs connected to the game lore.
