Our take on Disputed Space
Instead of the enclosed arenas common to many arcade shooters, the game places six-degree combat among capital ships, fighters, bombers, and fleet formations. Its campaign structure also combines large-scale space battles with local split-screen play, replacing a strictly solo arcade format with shared sessions.
What is Disputed Space?
Disputed Space is a fast-paced arcade space shooter rather than a realistic simulator.
The single-player campaign contains 30 levels, with optional local split-screen co-op for 2-4 players. Each player pilots a small fighter that can move in six directions, including backward flight, while strafing, dodging, aiming, and firing lasers and missiles. Battles take place across procedurally generated star systems, with fighters and bombers operating around large capital ships. Combat can include dozens of ships and thousands of projectiles. The game uses an arcade-style control setup, but keyboard, mouse, controller, and joystick inputs can be remapped. Players can join an ongoing local battle by pressing the fire button on a controller or joystick.
