Our take on Disdoored
Rather than using a conventional realistic survival setting, the game places farming, creature breeding, base defense, and monster combat inside a handmade plasticine world. Its stop-motion presentation and strange animal combinations replace the genre’s usual naturalistic tone.
What is Disdoored?
Disdoored is a survival game set in a procedurally generated plasticine world made with handmade models and stop-motion animation.
Up to four players can cooperate while building a base, cultivating farms, and protecting their defenses from monsters. The central objective is to raise a carnivorous Lily plant discovered in an ancient laboratory, using its eventual weapon against mysterious doors that release creatures. Players can tame wild clay animals, change their traits, and combine them into unusual species that provide farm goods or support expeditions. Exploration centers on doors containing loot, old technologies, artifacts, and dangers. Combat includes bombs, grenades, swords, guns, and unusual weapons such as the Popcorn Gun.
How Disdoored plays
- 01Four-player cooperation

- 02Creature breeding
- Tamed animals can receive trait changes and be combined into new forms, including snails that produce milk.
- 03Farm development
- Players can grow crops while managing the risk that plants may become hostile.
- 04Base defense
- Defensive construction supports survival against monsters entering from the mysterious doors.
- 05Door exploration
- Doors can contain treasures, artifacts, forgotten technologies, or lethal encounters.
- 06Stop-motion world
- The characters, creatures, objects, and environments were handmade and animated from over 20,000 photographs.
Disdoored compared to similar games
Disdoored combines cooperative survival with farming, creature breeding, base defense, and expeditions through mysterious doors. Out of Reach also centers on survival and exploration, but its description emphasizes islands, pirate merchants, ships, and sailing rather than breeding animals or developing a farm. The other listed alternatives focus on emergency response, hide-and-seek, or animatronic horror rather than this survival workflow.
