Is Devil Spire worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Fans of retro first-person dungeon crawlers who want procedural runs
- Action RPG players who enjoy experimenting with weapons, spells, and equipment effects
- Roguelite players seeking challenge modes beyond standard dungeon exploration
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a relaxed or forgiving dungeon crawler may hit a wall at its explicitly hardcore roguelite structure.
- Players who want a fixed campaign may lose interest in repeated procedurally generated dungeon runs.
- Players looking for stealth-focused gameplay may not find the listed combat and dungeon systems suited to that approach.
Our take on Devil Spire
Players who need a predictable route or gentle difficulty will likely bounce when procedural generation and the hardcore roguelite structure make each run demanding. Those expecting a conventional fantasy campaign may also hit that wall when the game shifts toward repeated dungeon attempts and challenge modes.
What is Devil Spire?
Devil Spire is a first-person action RPG set in a procedurally generated stone tower that appeared in a land devastated by war, plague, and famine.
Players explore dungeons, battle enemies and bosses, and search interactive environments for loot. Character options include 24 weapon classes, ranged and throwing weapons, dual wielding, 48 spells, and 60 equipment enchantments. The game includes 10 dungeon varieties with distinct properties, foes, and bosses, plus six modes such as a 100-floor gauntlet and a boss-rush arena. Traps, barrels, crates, cards, non-player characters, and chests add interactive objects to the dungeon runs. Character portraits can be customized, including portraits for exotic races.

Devil Spire compared to similar games
Unlike Ghost of a Tale, which centers on a mouse character, exploration, stealth, disguises, and conversations, Devil Spire focuses on first-person dungeon combat, procedural generation, spells, and equipment enchantments. Vagante is described as a dark-fantasy adventure about traveling through dangerous lands, while Devil Spire structures its play around a massive tower with ten dungeon types and six modes. Blood West is an immersive stealth FPS set in a supernatural Wild West, whereas Devil Spire uses retro-styled pseudo-3D dungeon crawling with 24 weapon classes and 48 spells.
