Our take on DESPOILER
The resource system makes scrap serve two opposing purposes: it protects the vehicle while slowing it down, and it funds upgrades while making respawns costly. That trade-off adds tactical weight, but it also means momentum can be difficult to regain after repeated losses.
What is DESPOILER?
DESPOILER is an online team arena racer built around 5v5 matches.
Teams search the environment for scrap, break apart old silos, and carry the collected material on their hovercraft. The team holding the most scrap when the match ends wins. Scrap also absorbs damage as armor, but its weight reduces vehicle speed, creating a choice between durability and mobility. Delivering scrap to base unlocks utilities and vehicles for the upgrade garage. Respawning consumes team scrap, while attacking enemy reserves can reduce a deficit. The game uses physically simulated hovercraft and offers optional AI opponents. Its strategic escalation structure makes early performance affect later opportunities, while reversals remain possible during a match.
How DESPOILER plays
- 015v5 Online Matches
- Teams compete in online arena matches where the highest scrap total at the end wins.
- 02Scrap-Based Progression
- Depositing collected scrap at base opens access to utilities and additional vehicles in the upgrade garage.
- 03Weighted Scrap Armor
- Carried scrap absorbs incoming damage while making the hovercraft slower.
- 04Enemy Reserve Raids
- Teams can attack opposing scrap stores to recover from a disadvantage.
- 05Optional AI Opponents
- Computer-controlled opponents can be included in play.
DESPOILER compared to similar games
DESPOILER centers on 5v5 team objectives, scrap collection, base deposits, and upgrade access, while GRIP: Combat Racing focuses on high-speed wheeled or airborne combat vehicles and weapon use. The Drone Racing League Simulator is a realistic FPV flight simulator aimed at practicing drone piloting rather than competing in scrap-based team arenas.
