Our take on dEskape
The desktop-friendly format is a central part of the pitch, but the game also includes active combat, exploration and base management. That means its attention-light framing does not describe every part of play: the vendor distinguishes an idle mode from a busier mode with more enemies.
What is dEskape?
dEskape is a base-building game displayed along the bottom of the desktop, allowing play alongside other computer activities on one monitor.
Starting from the wreckage of a ship, the player builds facilities, gathers resources and works toward repairing the ship and leaving the planet. The playable character collects resources, uses laser weapons and can gain levels. Facilities include factories, research labs and crop-growing structures.
Research can reveal creatures and resources, while droids can be built, upgraded with skills and sent to collect materials or fight blood hives. The game has active and idle modes: active play brings more resources and enemies, while idle mode is for times when attention is elsewhere. The planet is circular, so travelling in one direction eventually leads back to the starting area.
