Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelike action players who want to shape attacks through repeated skill choices
- Players who enjoy experimenting with different ability combinations
- Solo players seeking a fantasy monster-fighting adventure with trial-based progression
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed skill tree may hit a wall when choosing between repeated enhancements and alternative mythic routes
- Players wanting highly varied skill growth after extended use may find the level 10 cap restrictive
- Players looking for a non-combat adventure may not fit the monster-focused trial structure
Our take on Deitydead:Elder Trial
The bounce point arrives when skill planning becomes mandatory: each ability stops improving at level 10, while mythic upgrades split its future direction. Players who prefer broad, unrestricted progression may find that cap and branching choice restrictive.
What is Deitydead:Elder Trial?
Deitydead: Elder Trial is a roguelike action game built around customizing skills during monster-filled trials.
It offers 18 basic skills, each with two mythic upgrade paths, for 36 mythic upgrades in total. Upgrades can change how an ability attacks, such as turning a directional flame attack into one that reaches around the character. The game includes seven trial levels, dozens of unusual events, amulets, weapons, and conversations with Nuwa, who provides healing and guidance. Skills can be enhanced up to level 10. Players choose upgrade combinations, collect items before they vanish when a map’s progress bar fills, and manage distance and health during combat. A demo is available before purchase.
