Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly focused campaign may find the many side activities, worlds, and optional areas distracting.
- Those wanting a purely action-driven RPG may find the narrative structure, crafting, recruitment, and minigames slow the pace.
- Players uninterested in virtual-world or real-world story conflicts may not connect with the central premise.
Our take on Data Hacker: Corruption
The broad structure trades focus for variety: story routes sit alongside crafting, recruitment, card play, racing, achievements, and optional exploration. That range supports different activities, but it also makes the experience less concentrated than a straightforward narrative RPG.
What is Data Hacker: Corruption?
Data Hacker: Corruption is a retro-inspired, narrative-focused RPG set in a virtual realm and simulated online game.
Players choose between two separate routes centered on the real and virtual worlds, with decisions shaping the story. A completed save from Data Hacker: Initiation can carry over decision data, team members, and inventory, or a new game can begin. The game includes more than 1000 craftable items, over 70 recruitable team members, optional content, dungeons, settings, and worlds to explore. It also features partial voice acting, fully voiced opening and closing cutscenes, a New Game+ mode with extra content, 69 achievements, a trading card game called Trioarch, and two racing minigames.
