Our take on DarkFighter
The page gives detailed attention to combat systems and mode structure, while its story setup is broad: a hero awakens in a demon-dominated world and sets out to find the gods and themselves.
What is DarkFighter?
DarkFighter is a turn-based roguelike with three modes.
In tower climbing, players build a card collection and draw cards for each battle. Regional mode involves locating statues to open portals, then selecting equipment before fighting enemies. Boss Lien Chan carries character data from regional mode into a sequence of boss fights. Battles use stamina for charged attacks or magic, while defending restores magic and reduces damage by 50% by default. Against bosses with magic armor, timed magic attacks can break shields. Attacks and magic also build anger for a screen-wide skill. The game includes seven boss battle styles, random events, a starting platform for resting, conversations, and small games.
How DarkFighter plays
- 01Three game modes
- Tower climbing uses card draws, regional mode centers on finding statues and choosing equipment, and Boss Lien Chan chains boss encounters using regional character data.
- 02Boss combat mechanics
- Battles involve managing stamina and magic, reading enemy actions, and breaking magic shields with timed attacks.
- 03Starting platform activities
- A hub area includes places to rest, talk with women, and play small games.
