Our take on Dark Miasma
Instead of an open-ended role-playing journey, the game puts its story under a time limit. Choosing how to spend time among stat growth, earning trust, investigating mysteries, and preparing for combat shapes the journey and its endings.
What is Dark Miasma?
Dark Miasma combines time management, visual novel storytelling, and deck-building in a story set in Galeport, a remote coastal village.
As a new town guard, the player investigates a demonic threat, earns the townsfolk's trust, and decides how to spend limited time before the town is overrun. Stats, feats, and which people survive the journey to the Capital affect the dozens of possible endings. The story features 17 characters, each with problems and mysteries to explore, and contains over 125000 words. Combat uses decks built from over 500 cards. Mysteries and difficult tasks can unlock Heirlooms that persist between playthroughs and alter future runs. Optional bosses offer unique rewards, and the game has over 30 hours of gameplay.
