Our take on Dagger Froggy
The cute frogs and build variety receive prominent attention, but the moment-to-moment play is narrowly centered on throwing and recovering one dagger. The store also presents progression through coins and starting improvements, which makes the run-based structure less self-contained than the combat premise suggests.
What is Dagger Froggy?
Dagger Froggy is a small action roguelike built around throwing a dagger at enemies and retrieving it before targeting the next foe.
Each match lasts 10 minutes, with increasingly difficult creatures appearing as the run continues. After each horde, players select one of four improvements from a pool of 30 base upgrades. Combining improvements creates different builds, while maximizing one releases a Special that affects the character or daggers. Frogs provide different starting improvement points and individual styles. Maps are unlocked by winning on the previous one. Coins collected from enemies or awarded after matches can unlock improvement points for future starts.
