Our take on D3AD HAND
Rather than using a conventional heroic setting, the game places its world-saving crisis inside a decaying Soviet missile base and filters it through bureaucratic satire. Its bonus campaign also shifts control to Stalin the cat, replacing the usual human protagonist with an unusual helper.
What is D3AD HAND?
D3AD HAND is a darkly comic point-and-click adventure set in a deteriorating Soviet missile base in Siberia.
Yuri Spraytyvich, a newly appointed missile-force manager, must respond after the PERIMETER defense system triggers a nuclear launch. Progress involves navigating sabotage, radiation, worker strikes, and bureaucratic obstacles while solving the crisis. The game uses an alternative-history setting with pixel art and tongue-in-cheek humor. Multiple endings provide different outcomes. The included R3D STAR bonus adventure adds a separate campaign about Sputnik and Major Perestrova, with several hours of additional content and a higher challenge. R3D STAR also allows play as Stalin, the cat, who assists Yuri through feline abilities.
